EARTH DAY ACTIONS!!!

Saturday 22 April 2023
10:00 to 12:00

THIS WEEK

It’s “Earth Day” on Saturday! But if marching in London is not your thing, why not join us with some positive action on site:

  • We have more to do to make the pond even better habitat for newts (and other living things). In our newt survey this week, we found most newts in exactly the areas we have been coppicing to allow in more sunlight… it’s nice to know we’re appreciated!
  • We also really need to translocate our Bee Orchids so they aren’t mown out (for golf) before they can flower.

It’s also FABULOUS to see David Lloyd members are being offered a 3km litter-picking walk - programmed for Saturday at 10am also.

The more of us out there, the better – full support and thanks to David Lloyd, Hampton for promoting this to their membership group. Maybe a few will end up joining Hampton Heath Friends! 😉

When we’re all done litter-picking, or working on ponds and orchids, it’s back to David Lloyd for tea, coffee, cookies at David Lloyd.

WHEN: From 10am Saturday (15th April) until around midday.

WHERE: Meet at the goalpost, rear of David Lloyd, Hampton as usual. Over to David Lloyd for free tea/coffee at around 12

WHO: Anyone and everyone. As always, please bring some protective gloves, sensible footwear, drinking water etc. and children must be accompanied.

WHAT: We provide the litter-pickers/bags as always, and I will bring as many tools as I can, but if you have your own secateurs, loppers, mattock or hedge trimmer (battery), please do bring them along.

Hope to see you on Saturday!
