Get Creative: Refugia and hand-crafted signs and benches

Saturday 03 June 2023
10:00 to 12:00

Last week was busy with newt and lizard surveys, AGM and regular litter clearance.
Litter levels are currently low (much improved by the new bins kindly provided by David Lloyd), but there’s always some, and plenty of stray golf balls to collect!

This week, we’ll also be making refugia (sawing up and stacking the wood coppiced earlier in the spring) and if you’re artistically minded, we’ll be looking for the raw materials (large timber) to get creative - making robust, hand-made informal signs and log seats in the coming weeks.

WHEN: From 10am SATURDAY (3rd June) until around midday.

WHERE: Meet at the goalpost, rear of David Lloyd as usual. Over to David Lloyd for free tea/coffee at around 12.

WHO: Anyone and everyone. As always, please bring some protective gloves, sensible footwear, drinking water etc. and children must be accompanied.

WHAT: We provide the litter-pickers/bags as always, and I will bring as many tools as I can, but if you have your own secateurs, loppers, mattock or hedge trimmer (battery), please do bring them along.

Don’t forget, you can subscribe to this Hampton Heath Friends calendar for up to date information in your Outlook or Calendar app. and we have further information on our website.

Hope to see you on SATURDAY!
