Get Outside! - Enjoy the sunshine!

Saturday 17 June 2023
10:00 to 12:00

We're back at Hampton Heath this weekend for some gentle conservation work. At this time of year there is generally a little less to do on Hampton Heath, but ongoing tasks:

  • Litter - New littering is reassuringly low (unless it’s just hidden in the undergrowth), but there’s always some, and the surrounding streets are as bad as ever.

  • Refugia - We still have the last of the coppiced wood to cut and stack

  • Paths - Continuing to tackle the spreading bramble, and in some places high, coarse grasses too.

  • Wildlife recording - always a great excuse to get outside and into nature... totally relaxing AND essential to building the picture of nature in the Borough

  • Informal wooden seats and signs… if we can, move some of the previously cut oak rounds to public areas - and (hopefully) reduce people’s desire to move the reptile survey tiles

Or just come and say hello, take it easy, have a chat!
