Hampton Heath Hay-raking 2023

Grassland management and path clearance

Saturday 01 July 2023
10:00 to 12:00

If you can, do join us on Saturday - for as much (or as little) time as you have! We aim to be:

  • Completing raking off the kick-about area hay - essential to reduce the vigour of coarse grasses (which outcompete most wildflowers)

  • Litter - as always

  • Paths - Tackle the bramble on the path parallel to Uxbridge Road.

  • Informal wooden seats and signs - Still on the “to do list” if we get this far, move some of the previously cut oak rounds to public areas.

WHEN: From 10am SATURDAY (1st July) until around midday.

WHERE: Meet at the goalpost, rear of David Lloyd as usual. Over to David Lloyd for free tea/coffee or cold drinks at around 12.

WHO: Anyone and everyone. As always, please bring some protective gloves, sensible footwear, sunscreen, drinking water etc. and children must be accompanied.

WHAT: We provide the litter-pickers/bags as always, and as many tools as I can barrow, but if you have your own secateurs, rake, strimmer or hedge trimmer (battery), please do bring them along.

Don’t forget, you can subscribe to the Hampton Heath Friends calendar for up to date information in your Outlook or Calendar app. and we have further information on our website.

Hope to see you on SATURDAY!

Thanks as always to anyone/everyone who reads this, and all messages and feedback are very welcome! You can email us direct on anything related at: [email protected]
