We’re back, continuing the “deep clean”... in the Staines Road end of the site, and cutting back the brambles from the paths.
I will also bring the first batch of native heathland plants which we are reintroducing - including Bell Heather (Erica cinerea) and Heather/Ling (Calluna vulgaris).
We will plant this batch, geo-locate them using “What3words” and scatter some (locally collected) seed in the same area. Over the coming years, with small-scale reintroductions and management, we’ll try and restore this fragment of the original, massive Hounslow Heath.
WHEN: 10am Saturday (11th February)
WHERE: Meet at the goalpost, rear of David Lloyd as usual
WHO: Anyone and everyone. As always, please bring some protective gloves, sensible footwear, drinking water etc. and children must be accompanied.
WHAT: We provide the litter-pickers/bags as always, and I will bring as many tools as I can, but if you have your own secateurs, loppers, mattock or hedge trimmer (battery), please do bring them along.
Hope to see you there!
