THIS WEEK
Carrying on with the litter, bramble control, and preparation of some discreet sites for heathland reintroductions. No raking needed this week!
WHEN: 10am Saturday (12th November)
WHERE: Meet at the goalpost, rear of David Lloyd as usual
WHO: Anyone and everyone. As always, please bring some protective gloves, sensible footwear, water etc. and children must be accompanied.
WHAT: Cutting back from paths and opening up visibility, plus litter-picking (we provide the litter-pickers/bags as always). I bring as many tools as possible, but if you have your own secateurs, loppers, mattock or hedge trimmer (battery)…
MINI-DIGGER
If anyone on the mailing list has access to a mini-digger (preferably for free!) and/or is a skilled operator, please let me know!
It would be great if we had a low cost means of excavating for marginal/aquatic habitat creation – and to create bee-banks. Thanks!
ALSO THIS SATURDAY
Saturday afternoon (from 2pm) local resident Jo has again orgaised work to the path alongside the railway from Burtons Road to Wellington Road.
If anyone has the energy, please do join Jo and others to help improve safety and conditions on this footpath. Meet at the Burtons Road rail bridge.
